The Game

The Game

Even today,

I still played a game with five giants.

Raising the ball highly toward the sky,

Striking the ball on the earth,

Driving the ball and giving and taking it each other,

They freely were playing the ball.

They said, as throwing the ball up to the sky,

"Snap this ball from me, this is the luxuriousness you like."

They said, as shooting the ball down to the ground,

"Snap this ball from me, this is the power you want to have."

In order to catch the ball, I was running about here and there.

Stirring my hands toward the air,

But falling down by clashing into the great beings,

I was lifting up my body once more and challenging again and again.

However, I was breaking down, crumbling down, falling down again and again.

So

I was groaning out with tottering,

"This game is unjust,

I am fatigued,

I have no energy,

I am indifferent to you,

Now stop it.”

They laughed me to scorn,

“A little being!

Your running figure seems to be like a colt with a loose rein,

And your weary appearance seems to be like a frog

exhausted out in a paddy field.

The stronger alone can survive in the world!

Raise yourself up again and make a challenge!”

Then,

The something hot, all of a sudden, burst out

from the deepest place of my body.

"Don't bother me any longer,

The heaven do not look down on me,

I will break your forehead,

And make you kneel down to me”

The comment on my poetry, <The Game>

This poetry was written in 2000, When I was in graduate school.

I was a naive and little person who doesn't know what the world is. The world was so cruel to me, The persons who have the power made me fight with others and competitive and They continued to compare with others. They pull me down and tease me down and get the run upon me. They said "Catch me up and you will succeed"

I was so hurted. My self-esteem got down more and more. I thought it was unjust game. Then I came to risist it. I thought God do not look down on me.

And I decided that some day I made them keel down to me, as David in the Bible destroyed the Goliath.
