The thing that is necessary for the modern people is

“the consolation”

 

We all need the consolation from somebody. We are near to death, if we do not be consoled by somebody. There are many people that have much trouble with failure, frustration, loneliness, and hurts, though our appearance seems to be good. Somewhere they shed tear, sigh deeply, cry out, and resent the world with the bowl of cuss word. Some of them think suicide extremely.  We are taught that we must endure in severe evaluation and cold treatment and must judge completely and rationally by the analysis of reality.

But there are two kinds of persons. The one is rational, cold and realistic, the other is warmhearted, kindhearted, and hopeful.

I want to tell my own experience with mom a year ago. Then my mom was 81 years old and came to sick, She didn’t eat and sleep. Finally the great fear of death went over to her. Although she also was a Christian and believe in the kingdom of Heaven, she felt uneasy like a child.

I took her to the hospital, but the doctor was so cold that he was done just by prescribing medicine. My mom asked the doctor piteously, “Can I get well?” but the doctor gave her cold reception. From then on, my mom searched for the another hospitals owning famous doctors. She wanted me to take her to them. I had no choice but doing as she wanted. But the most doctors was so cold that they just examined and prescribed medicine. I felt bad that she looked so unesay. Then, I was hurted by the doctors, although I already knew that most doctors were just like that. They think that they have to be rational, cold and intelligent. I got angry about it. But I was helpless, and prayed to God, “God, my mom is terribly sick, my mom is uneasy, she needs just one hopeful word and trust in you, I am helpless. She need help from the doctor. So I hope that we can meet the one doctor that can tell a lie just for his patient.”

And finally we went to the one hospital that my mom discovered in the newspaper. The doctor in there was so kind that he said, “you will get well, see a sunshine everyday for thirty minutes and do exercise and write the Bible,” as even giving us Bible card. He was a Christian.

From that day, my mom got better and better, she saw sunshine everyday and ate well and did exercise and wrote the Bible. I thought that my mom could live to the age 100, as seems to me.

It caused not the good medicine. My mom got well because of just one word, hopeful and console from doctor.

What is the cold judgement about reality? We already knew that. That is, “we all die, we run to death, we have no possibility”

But If we are Christian, how could we say? The answer is that “the world is worth to live, because God loves you. God has plan toward you”

I saw a certain famous instructor doing a lecture on TV,  She said to young people, “Be beaten, Be beaten with glaring eyes, you must be taken blows well, And you will be succeed”

I felt sad that the reality took beating and hurting, ignoring and being despised for granted. But I thought that that kinds of person must be a monster which would destroy humanity, even though he came true his dream. So, that is the reason why our society became severe and severe.

If we, Christian, become the very one of the consolation, our society will get warmer and warmer, clearer and clearer.  

Someone said the message of hope and consolation could make people weaker and weaker by giving an impossible expectation. It was just like “hope torture”.

Which one can make people hurted and weakened?  

Would I say this if it weren’t that bad? Some people open their wallet to consolation and sympathy. That is called as “the marketing of consolation,” that means to earn the money by bring cheer to some people. Those people spend money in gaining a cheerful word from the late night restaurant and cart bar.

In order that some guesthouse and hair shop try to manage their shop, they use this kind of marketing, they said, “Hurted people, come to me, It’s free”

Then, hurted people get consolation and cheer from them for free, And they will come back to them and they will become a regular customer of them, through such kinds of course, their business must be flourish. Isn't it a good idea?

If we are a Christian, we have to be a doctor of soul.

Someone said to me,

“Hey, pastor, you must do such kinds of thing, You must be kind, but you must know the reality. I am a stronger man than you, I am a man who already endure it.”

I said,

“Please don’t say that, How hard you are to survive! We both get hurted from that kinds of words. There are the way to endure it easily, the word and the act to cheer us up. Which kinds of person do we have to be?”   

We already know the cold judgement. Humans have no possibility. We run to death. That is reality. But we, Christian, have a secret that can come over this reality. So our words must be different from the words of severe world. Do we have to give a cheerful and hopeful message to people who have pain from so many hurts?   

Even Jesus needed consolation and love. He got big consolation from a certain woman, Maria and He came to win from the horror of death and despise and ignorance and alienation. Did it a small thing to Jesus, because He is a divine being? He was hard and afflicted as we are. Even Jesus needed love and consolation. The heroes and powerful persons and the strongest man in the world needed love and consolation from somebody. The small thing from warm-hearted woman, that is, the overflowing love shedding tears gave a power to Jesus that could come over all things.    

If we, Christian, become the love, the hope, and the consolation of people who are crying out, shedding tears alone and drunken by a glass of beer and thinking suicide, Our world will become so sound and healthy that no one has trouble in pain, hurts and poor. The cold and severe world must be so beautiful. I hope so with all my heart.
