The ones who this era requests are “the good persons”.

 

 

What is the good?

What kinds of person can be called “good man”? Today, If you heard that you are a good man, that did not always mean the praise of you. There are some reasons that the good man does not mean good word.

In Korea, the good man is regarded as the person who has no own view and no own character and less ability and no something special and no power to have. Extremely some people consider the good man as the hypocritical person. Thus, the most appellative texts in Korea tell us to be selfish and to be colorful-mined person and to love self as much as one likes and to go out from the good man complex.   

Indeed, when young man and woman love each other, a woman is easy to feel drawn to bad man and also a man is easy to feel drawn to bad woman.

But usually we think the good person is like that, for example, the person making a room for the aged in a bus, serving for the poor people, helping others, sacrificing himself for others, and telling his fault honestly.

Most people regard these kinds of things as great. But ironically they want my man or my girl to be selfish to others. Because sacrificing and being honest seem to be harmful and seem to be foolish and seem to be less usable for this world.

Ironically we have the moral in our instinct that the good man must get well and the bad man to do wrong to good man must be punished. So, The story of the drama, the movie, the fairy tale, and the novel have contents like this. We call this the ideal of reward virtue and punish vice. This is human nature.

As I told, human nature is complex to know all. The person to be so good to others cannot be recognized, This is reality. There are so many cases in real for the good not to be led to successful life. The condition of success is determined not by moral, character, virtue and value but by the ability to solve the problem.

Usually the good man is lack to reject other’s ask and to express himself well and to tell his opinion powerfully and to resist an improper requirement of others. There are so many cases for good man to be unhappy in his life. This world has so many bad people to make bad use of the mind of care and sacrifice of good persons.

So, Lest the good should be led to unhappiness, the good persons must enhance their ability to express their right and insist. But if the ability is slightly different, it is desirable for good man to be praised and to be succeeded. 

 

The good is the competiveness in this era

The era have changed. These days, the good means the powerfulness. You know You Jae Suk, a famous comedian in Korea. He is well known to be kind and humble for others. Korea do not have any other person to be so much successful as You Jae Suk. This tells us that the good is powerful thing for success. The value of honest, humbleness, self-sacrifice is so scarce that we can acknowledge it as great. We feel that the value becomes the standard of success.     

According to the report about the education, the students to be taught the community, service, care, sacrifice can be more successful than the self-centered students only to study.

In cases of my nephews, some are bad for studying and some are good for studying. But I love some nephews to be bad for studying because they have humanity. Even though, they entered a jerkwater college, jokingly because they drank so much jerkwater.

 The most important thing I want to tell is that they got a job in popular workplace in Korea to be so difficult for even a man of ability to enter. They came over the discrimination and prejudice in our society and went through them.

The secret that this can be possible is the score of interview. The crucial point of interviewers is the humanity of interviewee. The key point of the questions is the power to communicate, the ability of empathy, and the experience of social service.  

Now, we think that the persons who even have high quality in career and certificate are not attractive, in case that they have less humanity. Because they cannot be suitable for organization needed to have long persistence.

Some Korean parents always say that we must raise the quality and career and ability of our children, as if these are their responsibility.

However, they don’t think that the good humanity is amounts of power. Can it be ease for someone to have such kinds of humanity? The conception of ability comes to be changed. The suitable persons are prior to able persons.
