Grooming

 

Modern people do not only need excellent skills and ability to survive in the social community. There are many things that are required, such as empathy, community, and sociality. So nowadays there is a word called network quotient or coexistence quotient. In other words, the ability to live with other people, intimacy, well guided and affinity is high for this quotient.

There is a word 'grooming'. Chimpanzees have a habit of picking and touching each other's hairs while living in a community. This is an indication of intimacy with each other. However, it is said that this is for them to survive, not to be lost. Because if you can not get intimacy in a group, you will be bullied, because it means death.

This phenomenon can be seen in our schools, society, and organizations. It can be seen from the fact that a person who has an affinity with an amicable personality becomes a leader. If you do not fit in your organization, you may be hijacked after being bullied. Thus, we can see how important it is to achieve intimacy in order to live in the community, and it is an important issue connected with survival. Just as instinct is the instinct of the chimpanzee, we humans like to instinct and intend to maintain intimacy with someone in the community. That is because survival depends on the scariest hierarchy.
